Mainstream Foundation is the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited (MESL), operators of the Kainji, Jebba, and Zungeru hydropower plants, and the largest hydropower company in Africa. MESL is also the only successor company of the former PHCN with a duly registered foundation.>
Through Mainstream Foundation, the company engages with its host communities, focusing on four key areas of intervention: education, environment, health, and community empowerment. These initiatives aim to enhance the quality of life around the Kainji, Jebba, and Zungeru lakes, as well as the Niger Basin, contributing to the growth of thriving local economies.
Registered on December 28, 2016, the Foundation is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees with a proven track record of integrity and commitment to community service in Nigeria.
